The United States Space Force (or How the United States is THE MOST VULNERABLE NATION during a war in space)

Today, I viewed Michio Kaku’s YouTube video (below).

In it, he describes the 2018 proposal by then President Trump and spearheaded by Vice-President Pence for a new branch of the military called the United States Space Force and establishment of a new U.S. Space command.

The proposal calls for it to be functional by 2020–2021.

I learned quite a bit from this video.

A short list of items that I didn’t know before —

  • Kaku’s lack of military branch history. He states that the new US. Space Force will be the 6th uniformed service and the last time the U.S. created a new branch of the military was 1947; but in reality there are already 7 services and the latest to be formed was in 1970 (the NOAA) -

The seven uniformed services are, in order of precedence:

United States Army.

United States Marine Corps.

United States Navy.

United States Air Force.

United States Coast Guard.

United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps.

  • The 2013 show of capability by China (They shot down a satellite and littered space with the debris. Below image: Space junk created by a 2007 Chinese anti-satellite test hit a Russian satellite on Jan. 22, 2013. Credit: Courtesy of Analytical Graphics, Inc.).

Here’s the video:

(The first 28 minutes deal with the Space Force/Warfare issue and the last portion deals with the science of manipulating depressive moods.)

Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life — while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.

In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.

After 24 years of active duty, he retired in Asia.

Since then, he’s been a full-time, single papa and actively pursuing his varied passions (Writing, Disruptive Technology, Computer Science and Cryptocurrency — plus more hobbies too boring or bizarre for most folk).

He lives on an island paradise with his teenage daughter, longtime girlfriend and two dogs.
