Publish0x: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Good -

For years, I’ve truly enjoyed blogging on Publish0x.

The post editor is solid and user friendly (albeit, 95% WYSIWYG).

Cross posting is not prohibited.

Most articles are of high quality and spamming is very low.

Users are interactive and generous.

Authors get tipped in multiple tokens.

Withdrawals have nominal minimum requirements and are easily withdrawn into personal wallets via a request, review and approval process.

But I do have some pet peeves about Publish0x.

The Bad -

Unlike some other platforms, authors cannot choose which coins or tokens to be tipped or rewarded in.

I can remember when Hydro, BAT and LRC were rewards/tips on Publish0x. This is especially stabbing for me in the wake of LRC’s recent 430% uptick!

Now author tips are in ETH, AMPL and FARM.

Without warning, Publish0x drops a token and converts it into its remaining reward tokens.

There is no grace period for users to withdraw soon-to-be dropped tokens into personal wallets before Publish0x’s conversion and deletion from the platform.

Recently, because of high gas fees, Publish0x delayed withdrawals with no estimated date for lifting the withdrawal ban.

(It turned out to only be one week.)

The Ugly -

Similar to other platforms, there is a great disparity in tips between OGs and new authors — no matter how high the quality of content is from the new author; or how mediocre/low the quality of content is from the OG’s.

Like most things in life, time and trust converts into rewards that may or may not be a true reflection of value.

It also spawns a plethora of silent networks that require “running the gauntlet” before acceptance.

My advice?

Remember that all blogging platforms are also social media. Success requires producing quality content AND being social.

On Publish0x, again like all other blogging platforms, to be successful, authors must read, comment and tip other users’ articles.
