I’ve only watched the first two episodes and I feel a Binge Watching Session coming on.

So far, “Pine Gap” has a plethora of subjects that I’ve had experience with or am still very interested in, such as:

  • What those “Intel” guys actually did while I was on the ground playing sneak and peak during hazardous duty ops.
  • What kind of corporate/unit atmosphere exists in a workplace where everyone is a potential threat — a tenuous situation, at best.
  • Suspected United States and Australian political shenanigans; either against unfriendly nations or each other!
  • The tech, oh the tech!
  • What does an “honest” Intel person do when their side strays from the path, National Security is at risk, AND he/she is sworn to serve the interests of his/her country (or risk total professional and personal life annihilation).

Pine Gap is an international political thriller which is set around the Australian and American joint defence intelligence facility at Pine Gap, south-west of the town of Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia.

The six-part series is written and created by Greg Haddrick and Felicity Packard with Mat King directing all six episodes. The series is produced by Screentime.

Set in the intensely secretive world of intelligence and the enigmatic US/Australia joint defence facility in central Australia, the spy-thriller Pine Gap delves into the famously strong alliance between the two countries.
