Recently, Charles H. stated that with Cardano’s ERC-20 token converter bridge going live on September 12th, it is essential for their scaling solution called “Hydra” to come online asap.

My Thoughts -

Platform to platform bridging and scalability will always be big factors in the battle of the blockchains; especially for smart contract platforms.

While Cardano’s converter bridge and Hydra scaling solution puts Cardano among the top smart contract platforms hoping to topple Ethereum’s reign in that space, nobody — except Cardano — seems to have addressed the Elephant in the Room; that is, Ethereum’s switch from their current EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) to eWASM (Ethereum Web Assembly) when ETH 2.0 arrives.

This may put many EVM compatible platforms behind the eight ball until they achieve full eWASM compatibility.

This brings up my last, most important point for this post:

Although switching from EVM to eWASM may open up Ethereum to more non-solidity developers (WASM is compatible with several programming languages), I believe that currently, Cardano is the best equipped smart platform to be eWASM compatible faster than the rest.

Why?

Because Cardano already uses Haskell to WASM in Plutus for client side DApps and has extensive experience in the “Rust WebAssembly, JavaScript and npm combination” for stack-based virtual machines.

May you and yours be well and loving life today.
