The coolest thing I’ve been doing lately (thanks to my girlfriend and best friend who found and gathered a bunch of natural Reish in the woods for me a week ago) is experimenting with Reishi (Ganoderma Lucidum and Ganoderma Applanatum) tea for the last few days.

If you don’t know about the health benefits of the Reishi mushroom, here’s just a few…

Just after two days of mixing Reishi tea in my coffee and protein shakes I noticed the following:

Easiest method (for me) is to slice the leathery-to-hardwood texture of the mushroom into slices with a serrated blade and boil for 2–3 hours, strain and drink warm or refrigerate for later consumption.

I used 40 grams of dried Reishi to make a liter and a half of Ganoderma tea.

Note: Boiling only releases the polysaccharides.

In order to get the other benefits of Ganoderma, you must immerse in alcohol (vodka, Rhum, etc.) for at least two weeks. Then you drain the tincture, boil the mushrooms, and add equal amounts of the boiled water to the alcohol.

This “double extraction” provides both the water soluble and alcohol soluble chemicals (beta glucans and triterpenes) for your health.

I am currently soaking a bunch of Ganoderma in alcohol as we speak for my future tincture mix.
